The Business Philosophy I employ for each of the businesses that I am involved in all differ depending on the nature of the business itself. However, they all share some core common aspects which stem from my overall philosophy on how I do business.
I believe that a business is no better than the people it employs, therefore, I place great emphasis on the people I employ to represent the company. I believe in trying to identify unique talents and building a unique team. This in itself then becomes a very strong competitive advantage.
I believe in the importance of understanding the market better than anyone else. This might involve looking to see where trends are going and getting there first, so that our customers see continual innovation and are satisfied that we deliver on product, service and quality. This helps me to be ‘ahead of the curve’ and was particularly important over the last few years when all of my business interests had to deal with a rapidly changing market due to the global recession.
I believe in the power of positive thinking, of challenging yourself everyday and of taking calculated risks for the sake of competitive advantage or to open up new viable markets and business opportunities.
I believe in getting up early to get ahead of the day and I am a great believer in the importance of humour as a great tool to overcome of lot of the daily ups and downs of business.
And finally I believe that through all the ups and downs, challenges and obstacles – hard work, persistence and ongoing review will always win out in the end.
